Job summary

General Motors in Saginaw, MI is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to provide essential mechanical and manufacturing engineering support for production operations. This onsite role focuses on safety, reliability, and continuous improvement across equipment and processes.

You will lead troubleshooting, manage projects, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve safety, quality, and uptime while supporting launch activities and maintenance planning.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer.
• Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Degree.
• Previous skilled trades supervision.
• Ability to work off shifts and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical engineering support for production operations.
• Enforce safe work practices as the highest priority.
• Lead technical troubleshooting and provide guidance to skilled trades.
• Manage mechanical projects including new installations and refurbishments.
• Coordinate with HQ Vehicle Systems engineers on model conveyance planning.
• Develop cost estimates and investment plans for conveyors and equipment.
• Maintain equipment and facilities for long-term cost-effective operation.
