Job summary

General Motors in Saginaw, MI is seeking a Controls Systems Engineer to join our onsite manufacturing team. You will configure and program PLC-based controls, troubleshoot electrical systems, and collaborate with quality and maintenance to drive improvements on the production floor.

You will design user interfaces, deploy new control solutions, and mentor colleagues while supporting high-volume automotive manufacturing. Relocation benefits may be available for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
• Experience with PLC/HMI programming in manufacturing.
• Ability to work multiple shifts and weekends.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Configure, program, test and troubleshoot PLC-based control systems.
• Electrical troubleshooting of controls panels and equipment.
• Diagnose and improve manufacturing processes.
• Design and deploy intuitive user interfaces.
• Support manufacturing and quality groups.
• Continuously improve quality, cost, and safety.
• Lead integration and commissioning of electrical systems for new equipment.
• Mentor others on control issues and learn new skills.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across teams.
