Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to optimize safety, quality, throughput, and efficiency on the Tonawanda (NY) production floor. You will provide technical leadership, collaborate with maintenance, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across shifts.

The role requires hands-on problem solving, design of efficient work operations, and experience with lean manufacturing principles in a fast-paced plant environment.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or similar technical field.
• Experience solving engineering problems on the shop floor.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day production by collaborating with Production and Maintenance teams.
• Manage downtime events with technical guidance and support.
• Design safe, quality-focused work operations with high efficiency.
• Drive continuous improvement and eliminate waste in assigned area.
• Evaluate bottlenecks and push throughput and productivity gains.
• Provide coaching on lean principles to the production floor.
• Lead problem solving and collaboration across levels of the organization.
• Work with machine/tool builders on new tools and equipment.
