Job summary

General Motors in Bay City, MI is seeking a Quality Engineer to support the implementation of Quality Systems on an onsite, full-time basis. You will respond to gage failures, assist root-cause investigations, and coordinate containment and disposition of out-of-process material, including off-shift coverage.

You will lead teams to develop Quality Systems, participate in MQRR audits, and act as a Voice of Quality in launches.

Qualifications

3 years of Quality Engineering experience.
Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult.
Well-developed oral and written communication skills and comfortable presenting to large groups and varying levels of management.
Ability to work off-shift and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

Lead or work within teams to develop and implement Quality Systems and procedures for the program, including operator support tracking sheet (OSTS) and PFMEAs.
Support MQRR audits and plant launch operations wall (PLOW).
Act as a Voice of Quality.
Support the implementation of GM Quality Systems (GMS) and BIQ standards in launches.
Establish courses of action to complete projects.
Coordinate training on part and product quality and provide technical assistance to team members.
Maintain cross-functional communication with stakeholders.
Drive continuous improvement in current practices and processes.
Pursue professional development through available training and certifications.
