Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a mechanical engineer to join the Launch Systems Infrastructure team within the Sentinel GBSD program. The role supports the design, fabrication, test and delivery of PDPs for critical systems, with travel up to 10% and relocation assistance possible.

Requirements include a STEM bachelor's with 2 years' experience or a master's with 1 year, U.S. citizenship, and a current Secret clearance; SAP access is anticipated.

Qualifications

• Requires a STEM bachelor's degree with 2+ years related experience, or a master's with 1 year.
• Active U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance (current within last 6 years).
• Ability to obtain SAP approval.
• Minimum 2 years CAD modeling experience.
• Experience with design/fabrication techniques for structural details, assemblies, and/or installations.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement deployable mechanical mechanisms that are verified through test/analysis.
• Develop CAD models visualizing various design solutions.
• Deliver required Product Definition Packages (PDPs) on time to meet program objectives.
• Support all phases of the systems lifecycle: design, drawings, fabrication, test, installation, operation, and maintenance.
• Identify gaps within a design and/or requirements and provide a cost‑effective, innovative resolution with minimal impact to others.
• Ensure the developed PDPs meet the design requirements from the various element/configured item specifications.
• Prepare and present reports, briefings, design documents (drawings and specifications) and interface with customers.
