Job summary

Dynavac, a leader in custom high-vacuum process equipment with headquarters in Hingham, MA, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II to join our Engineering team. The role requires expert SolidWorks, strong drawing standards, and deep knowledge of vacuum and thermal design.

You will design and optimize complex systems, prepare manufacturing drawings, review designs with customers, and contribute to project management and cross‑functional collaboration. Occasional travel to customer sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3-7 years of related experience.
• Proficiency in MS Office products.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• SolidWorks proficiency and vacuum/thermal design knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Independently design and optimize complex mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with engineering drawing standards.
• Leverage SolidWorks to create detailed 2D manufacturing and fabrication drawings.
• Analyze customer proposals, specifications, and manuals to assess design feasibility.
• Prepare and present comprehensive design reviews, ensuring clear customer communication.
• Apply vacuum and thermal design principles in developing solutions.
• Enhance performance, cost-efficiency, and manufacturability through design optimization.
• Demonstrate effective project management through time management and prioritization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and support procurement of long-lead items and BOM elements.
• Occasionally travel for customer site evaluations and field installations.
