Job summary

The Kansas City National Security Campus (KCNSC) is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II to apply engineering methods to routine and moderately complex projects, focusing on manufacturing and measurement processes. You’ll work with teams to design, qualify, and improve tooling, accommodations, and acceptance equipment that ensure product quality and productivity.

Qualifications include a BS in Engineering or Physics, 2+ years of relevant experience, and the ability to travel up to 10%. U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited program in Engineering or Physics.
• 2+ years of relevant engineering, analytical, or related technical experience.
• Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
• Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Regular and reliable attendance is essential.
• Ability to obtain and maintain DOE security clearance if required.

Responsibilities

• Assists in design and project management of products, programs, and tooling under technical guidance.
• Defines and acquires equipment to manufacture/inspect parts ensuring quality.
• Develops test procedures and conducts routine to moderately complex engineering evaluation tests.
• Interacts with partners, customers, suppliers, and internal teams to resolve issues.
• Prepares evaluation reports and initiates improvements to processes and equipment.
