Job summary

Kansas City National Security Campus seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer II to perform routine to moderately complex engineering tasks on assigned projects under guidance. You will assist in design, project management, create drawings, and develop test procedures to ensure manufacturability and quality. Required are a B.S.

in Engineering or Physics (ABET) and 2+ years’ related experience, ability to travel up to 15%, and U.S. citizenship with DOE clearance eligibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET-accredited university in Engineering or Physics.
• 2+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Ability to travel up to 15% of the time.
• Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management.
• United States Citizenship.
• Regular and reliable attendance is essential.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DOE security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations).

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and/or project/process management of new and current projects, products, programs, components, tools, and acceptance equipment under technical guidance of higher-level technical experts.
• Prepares product or project definitions, manufacturing drawings and specifications, operating procedures, and test equipment designs.
• Designs product and acceptance equipment; develops measurement methods, acquires, and designates tooling, cables, laboratory and other equipment to support product acceptance.
• Develops test procedures and performs routine to moderately complex engineering evaluation tests, product and process capability studies, quality audits, product or project data reviews, and other engineering evaluation work to assure product manufacturability.
• Conducts audits, analyzes processes, products, and inspection records to anticipate, identify, and correct problems and to establish quality levels and trends.
• Partners with internal and external stakeholders to assist in resolving moderately complex, development, production, and acceptance issues.
• Prepares evaluation reports, analyzes discrepancies, makes recommendations for and initiates improvements for product.
