Job summary

Kansas City National Security Campus (KCNSC) in Kansas City, MO seeks an Electrical Engineer II to perform routine to moderately complex engineering tasks on assigned projects, applying standard engineering principles and methods.

The role requires a BS in engineering or physics, 2+ years of related experience, and the ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed. US citizenship and potential DOE security clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited university in Engineering or Physics.
• 2+ years of relevant experience in engineering, analytical, or related technical activities.
• Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business.
• Ability to travel up to 15% of the time.
• United States Citizenship.
• Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.
• Ability to obtain and maintain, if required for position, a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design and project management of new and current projects under technical guidance.
• Prepares product definitions, drawings, specifications, operating procedures, and test equipment designs.
• Designs product and acceptance equipment and selects tooling and cables to support product acceptance.
• Develops test procedures and performs engineering evaluation tests and quality audits.
• Conducts audits, analyzes processes, and identifies and corrects problems to establish quality trends.
• Partners with stakeholders to resolve moderately complex development, production, and acceptance issues.
• Prepares evaluation reports and initiates improvements for product.
