Kansas City National Security Campus in Kansas City, MO is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II to perform routine to moderately complex engineering tasks, applying math, physics and engineering methods to ensure cost-effective, reliable manufacturing and measurement processes. Responsibilities include design support, equipment definition for manufacture/inspection, and conducting tests and analyses to assure product quality while collaborating with internal teams and external partners.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Physics.
• 2+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
• Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management.
• United States Citizenship or right to work.
• DOE security clearance eligibility may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design and project management of products and processes under technical guidance.
• Define and acquire equipment to manufacture/inspect parts for quality.
• Develop test procedures and perform evaluations to ensure manufacturability.
• Collaborate with partners and internal teams to resolve design and production issues.
• Prepare reports and recommend improvements to increase quality and reduce cycle time.
