The Kansas City National Security Campus (KCNSC) is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II to perform routine to moderately complex engineering tasks, focusing on quality control, manufacturing processes, and cost-effective production methods. Scope includes working with partners and customers to resolve issues and improve product quality and manufacturability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited program in Engineering or Physics.
• 2+ years of relevant engineering/analytical experience.
• Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
• Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management.
• United States Citizenship.
• Regular and reliable attendance is essential.
• Ability to obtain/maintain DOE security clearance (DOE Q-level or as required).

Responsibilities

• Assist in design/project management of products, programs, components, tools, and acceptance equipment.
• Define and acquire equipment to manufacture/inspect parts to assure quality.
• Develop test procedures and perform routine to moderately complex evaluation tests and quality audits.
• Interacts with partners, customers, suppliers and internal teams to resolve design, development, production and acceptance issues.
• Prepare evaluation reports, analyze discrepancies, and initiate improvements to productivity, quality and flowtime.
