Job summary

Barry-Wehmiller Converting is expanding its Mechanical Engineer positions across levels I–IV. Roles are primarily onsite at Green Bay with onsite and hybrid options in Waukesha and Madison. Relocation assistance may be available for candidates outside a commutable distance.

The Mechanical Engineer role covers design, development, and modification of machines and systems, balancing manufacturing feasibility, cost, safety, and performance with level-appropriate supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or related field.
• 0–2 years for Engineer I to 8+ years for Engineer IV in manufacturing engineering roles.
• Proficient to advanced in 3D CAD (SolidWorks/PDM or Inventor/Vault).
• OEM experience in machine component design preferred.
• Experience in hygiene, personal care, or roll converting industries a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop concepts for new machine functions, enhancements, and upgrades.
• Create technical solutions, detailed designs, and assembly drawings.
• Interface with suppliers to clarify system functionality and requirements.
• Support Purchasing in evaluating technical proposals, costs, and supplier capabilities.
• Develop and maintain product concept catalogs and specification workbooks.
• Read and apply information from blueprints, drawings, schematics, and reports.
• Collaborate with engineers and cross‑functional teams to implement procedures and solve issues.
• Research customer proposals to evaluate feasibility, cost, and maintenance.
