Job summary

Syska Hennessy Group is seeking an entry-level Mechanical Engineering Graduate in California to join our Engineering Development Training (EDT) program. You will support senior engineers, perform CAD/BIM drafting, and learn design standards across diverse projects.

The ideal candidate has a Mechanical Engineering degree with a Winter 2026 or Spring/Summer 2027 graduation window, internship exposure, and familiarity with MEP AutoCAD; REVIT is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with graduation date Winter 2026, Spring or Summer 2027.
• Experience internship in engineering is a plus.
• Knowledge of MEP AutoCAD; REVIT experience is a plus.
• Proficient in design and calculation software; MS Office Suite.
• FE or EIT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create basic designs under the direction of the senior engineer and/or senior designer.
• Learn drawing organization and company standards.
• Perform CAD/BIM-drafting for a variety of projects and project sizes to begin to understand architectural engineering design and documentation.
• Coordinate with the designs of other trades under guidance of senior staff.
• Support design and engineering for new installations, retrofits, replacements and upgrades.
• Take ownership of completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of assignments.
• Assist engineers with field investigations and site visits.
• Participate in the EDT program training and activities.
• Attend EDT continuing education seminars on technical topics.
