Job summary

CannonDesign in Arlington, VA seeks an early-career HVAC designer to support a multi-disciplinary team under a licensed engineer. The role covers piping design, equipment selection, load calculations, and BIM modeling through construction administration.

Requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Engineering (ABET preferred) and at least 2 years’ related experience. EIT/FE and LEED are preferred; strong communication and multi-project skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master in Engineering required; ABET accredited preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of related experience.
• EIT/FE in the United States preferred.
• LEED accreditation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design uncomplicated piping and equipment selection for HVAC systems.
• Prepare Building Load Calculations and energy models.
• Create Revit/BIM models from schematic to construction documents.
• Review submittals and shop drawings for compliance.
• Assist with editing specifications and responding to RFIs.
