Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. seeks a Mechanical Engineer to provide engineering and commissioning support for federal construction projects at Fort Hood, TX.

You will review design and construction documents, evaluate mechanical systems, support commissioning efforts, and ensure compliance with codes and contract requirements. The ideal candidate has a BS in Mechanical Engineering with at least 3 years of commissioning experience; PE license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field from an accredited college.
• Minimum of three years of building commissioning experience.
• PE license preferred; USACE or other federal project experience preferred.
• Experience reviewing HVAC, plumbing, controls, and other mechanical building systems.
• Strong technical writing, communication, and project coordination skills.
• Knowledge of LEED design and sustainability requirements preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review QA work for technical accuracy and completeness, providing technical guidance on plans, specifications and code interpretation.
• Review contractor schedules for conformance with sound construction methodology, sequencing, and contract compliance.
• Review and documentation of principal construction features, requirements, plans, specifications, submittals, and shop drawings for contract compliance.
• Review major design, construction, renovation, and alteration projects.
• Review RFIs, submittals, and change orders to ensure proper documentation.
• Inspect mechanical systems and equipment on projects and support commissioning activities.
• Prepare correspondence, reports and contract criteria for project completion.
• Attend meetings and provide input on RFP requirements and design compliance.
