Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support federal construction projects at Fort Hood, Texas.

Responsibilities include reviewing design and construction details, evaluating mechanical systems, supporting commissioning, and ensuring contract compliance through all phases. Requirements include a BS in Mechanical Engineering, a minimum of three years commissioning experience, US citizenship with background/drug screening, and PE license preferred.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering (accredited college)
• Minimum 3 years building commissioning experience
• US citizenship and ability to pass background/drug screen
• PE license preferred
• Experience with HVAC, plumbing, controls, and other mechanical systems; USACE/federal project experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Review QA for technical accuracy and provide guidance on plans, specs, and code interpretation.
• Review contractor schedules for conformance with methodologies and contract requirements.
• Document principal construction features, plans, specs, submittals, and shop drawings for field conditions.
• Review major design, construction, renovation, and alteration projects.
• Review RFIs, submittals, and change orders to ensure proper documentation.
• Inspect mechanical systems and equipment on projects; support commissioning activities.
• Prepare reports and contract criteria necessary for project completion.
• Attend meetings and advise on RFP requirements and design compliance.
