Job summary

Accura Engineering & Consulting Services, Inc is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to provide engineering and commissioning support for federal construction projects at Fort Hood, Texas. The role reviews design and construction aspects, evaluates mechanical systems, supports commissioning, and ensures contract and code compliance throughout all project phases.

The ideal candidate has a BS in Mechanical Engineering, 3+ years of commissioning experience, and preferably a PE license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college.
• Minimum of three years building commissioning experience.
• Professional Engineer license preferred.
• Army Corps of Engineers or other federal project experience preferred.
• Experience reviewing HVAC, plumbing, controls, and other mechanical building systems.
• Knowledge of LEED design and sustainability requirements preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review QA work for technical accuracy and compliance with codes.
• Review contractor schedules for conformance with method and contract.
• Review and document plans, submittals, and shop drawings for field construction and contract compliance.
• Assess major design, construction, renovation, and alteration projects.
• Review RFIs, submittals, and change orders; support plan-in-hand reviews.
• Inspect mechanical systems and equipment on projects; support commissioning activities.
• Prepare correspondence and reports for project completion.
• Attend meetings and input on RFP requirements and design compliance.
