Job summary

Ingersoll Rand seeks a Mechanical Engineer to design and launch a new line of large-scale, containerized power generation solutions for data centers in Sidney, OH. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
• 3+ years of progressive mechanical development design experience ideally in power generation, industrial equipment, modular systems, heavy equipment, or related industries.
• 2+ years experience with 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, CATIA, Inventor, or similar platforms, with ability to develop engineering documentation and manufacturing drawings.
• 2+ years of demonstrated knowledge in: Structural design; Sheet metal fabrication; Welded assemblies; Airflow and ventilation systems; Thermal management principles; Mechanical packaging concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design containerized and modular power generation solutions for data center backup and prime power applications.
• Develop 3D models, detailed drawings, assemblies, fabrication packages, and engineering documentation using CAD software.
• Design and integrate: Generator enclosures and power modules; ISO container-based power systems; Structural support systems and equipment skids.
• Perform engineering calculations related to structural integrity, airflow, cooling performance, vibration, noise attenuation, and equipment support.
• Collaborate with customers and internal teams to develop custom solutions that meet data center site constraints and operational requirements.
• Support designs for N, N+1, and 2N redundancy architectures.
• Evaluate and optimize designs for deployment within hyperscale and colocation environments.
