Ingersoll Rand is advancing a new data center power generation vertical in Sidney, OH. The Mechanical Engineer will lead mechanical design for containerized power systems, shaping architecture, platform, and manufacturing strategy with strong ownership from concept to readiness.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of progressive mechanical development design experience.
• 2+ years experience with 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, CATIA, Inventor.
• 2+ years knowledge in structural design, sheet metal fabrication, welded assemblies, airflow and ventilation systems, thermal management principles, and mechanical packaging concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design containerized and modular power generation solutions for data center backup and prime power.
• Develop 3D models, detailed drawings, assemblies, fabrication packages, and engineering documentation using CAD software.
• Design and integrate generator enclosures, ISO container‑based power systems, structural support, and fuel systems.
• Perform engineering calculations related to structural integrity, airflow, cooling, vibration, noise attenuation, and equipment support.
