Ingersoll Rand is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to help design, integrate, and launch large-scale, containerized power generation solutions for data centers. You will own electrical architecture, system integration, and manufacturing readiness from concept through validation in Sidney, OH.

The role emphasizes collaboration with mechanical, applications engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, and customer teams to deliver reliable, scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 3+ years of progressive electrical design experience in power generation or related industries.
• 2+ years designing power distribution systems.
• 2+ years of proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, SolidWorks Electrical or similar tools.
• Knowledge of generator systems, electrical protection and coordination, and LV/MV distribution.

Responsibilities

• Electrical System Design for containerized and modular power generation packages.
• Develop schematics, single-line diagrams, wiring drawings, cable schedules, panel layouts, and system architectures.
• Design and integrate diesel and natural gas generator systems, generator paralleling, switchgear and switchboards, MT/LT distribution, ATS, UPS interfaces, and BESS.
• Perform load flow, sizing, short-circuit, voltage drop, and protection coordination studies.
• Develop data center power solutions meeting N, N+1, 2N reliability requirements and interconnection needs.
• Drive development of standardized containerized power generation platforms and maintain engineering standards.
• Support prototype development, FAT/SAT protocols, testing, validation, and commissioning.
