Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to drive engineering and project activities for circuit breaker product families in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

You will perform analyses (thermal, electromagnetic, dynamic, structural), support product development and testing, and ensure compliance with ratings, specifications, and industry standards. Collaboration with Manufacturing, Quality, Marketing, and Procurement is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• 3–5+ years of experience in a high-production manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on product development experience, including testing and evaluation methods with relevant codes and standards.
• Proficiency in mechanical engineering and problem-solving, including GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering and project administration activities related to assigned circuit breaker product families.
• Perform engineering analyses, including thermal, electromagnetic, dynamic, and structural evaluations.
• Ensure all products comply with applicable ratings, product specifications, codes and standards.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Marketing, and Procurement to support development, production and improvement.
• Apply structured problem-solving to support production and resolve manufacturing and quality issues.
• Create, modify, and maintain Bills of Materials (BOM) and document lifecycle.
• Coordinate with electronics teams to ensure correct mechanical-electrical interfaces.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives for product quality and manufacturability.
