Job summary

Teradyne's Defense & Aerospace division is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and deliver electro‑mechanical solutions for advanced test systems supporting critical aerospace and defense applications. You will translate customer needs into manufacturable designs across new products and existing platforms.

You will lead cable, ITA, and test fixture design, develop CAD models, collaborate with systems engineering and suppliers, and validate designs through analysis, prototyping, and testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years electro-mechanical design experience (cables, ITAs, test fixtures).
• Strong SOLIDWORKS CAD skills and product data management familiarity.
• Experience with metal fabrication, tolerancing, and thermal considerations.
• Knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620 and cable/wire harness design standards.
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration and vendor/manufacturing interaction.
• Self-motivated with attention to detail and ability to manage shifting priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design of cables, ITAs, and custom test fixtures for automated test equipment.
• Develop and release CAD models, drawings, and documentation from concept through production.
• Collaborate with systems engineering, program management, and customers to define requirements.
• Build and validate designs through analysis, prototyping, and testing.
• Support product lifecycle activities including sustaining engineering and design improvements.
• Partner with suppliers and internal manufacturing teams to deliver cost-effective solutions.
