Job summary

Teradyne's Defense & Aerospace division seeks a Mechanical Engineer to design electro-mechanical solutions for advanced test systems. You will lead cable, ITA, and fixture designs, develop CAD models, and collaborate across engineering, program management, and customers to translate requirements into manufacturable solutions.

Required 5+ years in electro-mechanical design, strong SOLIDWORKS skills, IPC/WHMA-A-620 knowledge, and travel ~10% for customer and manufacturing activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of electro-mechanical design experience.
• Proficiency with SOLIDWORKS and PDM systems.
• Experience with metal fabrication, machining, tolerancing, and thermal design.
• Knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620 and cable/wire harness design standards.
• Ability to communicate with customers, teams, and suppliers.
• Experience working with CNC machining.
• Willingness to travel ~10%.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design of cables, ITAs, and custom test fixtures for automated test equipment.
• Develop and release detailed CAD models, drawings, and documentation from concept through production.
• Collaborate with systems engineering, program management, and customers to define requirements and solutions.
• Build and validate designs through analysis, prototyping, and testing.
• Support product lifecycle activities including sustaining engineering and design improvements.
• Partner with suppliers and internal manufacturing teams to deliver cost-effective solutions.
