Job summary

Teradyne's Defense & Aerospace Division seeks a highly technical Hardware Engineer to design and bring up digital, analog, and optical test hardware for mission-critical defense programs. You will own hardware design from schematic to manufacturability, with close collaboration across mechanical, software, and systems teams.

Qualifications

• BSEE or MSEE required.
• 5–12 years PCBA design and simulation experience with emphasis on schematic/circuit design.
• Experience designing complex, high-speed, multi-layer PCB assemblies and reviewing artwork designs.
• Strong circuit characterization, verification, and debug skills.
• Experience collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams and presenting design work to customers.

Responsibilities

• Implement PCB design processes with sound high-level architecture and component selection.
• Develop prototyping plans with thorough bring-up and validation of circuit behavior.
• Debug analog, digital, and bus-based hardware using lab equipment; summarize test data and findings.
• Communicate design status and risks clearly to engineering and management teams.
• Collaborate with product managers and software/mechanical teams to ensure manufacturability and customer impact.
• Work with operations to ensure designs are highly manufacturable.
• Execute verification strategies including worst-case, tolerance, and environmental stress analysis.
• Support design reviews to reduce risk and prevent respin.
