Job summary

Mesa Energy Systems, Inc. is a full-service HVAC, building automation, chiller and retrofit contractor. We seek an applications engineer with a bachelor’s in engineering and 2+ years of experience to join our design and controls team.

You will read floor plans to identify equipment, develop P&ID’s, and support control system architecture and installation methods. Knowledge of Delta/JCI/Andover is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical or Mechanical) or equivalent field experience.
• 2+ years of relevant experience, with at least 2 years in applications engineering preferred.
• Engineering skills include electronics, mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and computer programming.
• Working knowledge of HVAC controls systems (preferably Delta, JCI or Andover).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with control system architecture design, programming, or maintenance desired.
• EIT or desire to obtain a PE license a plus.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Read and identify mechanical equipment on floor plans.
• The ability to identify mechanical equipment on drawings the following: Chillers, Boilers, Pumps, AHU’s, FCU’s, VAV’s, and EF’s.
• Understand basic electrical control circuits including 24VAC power and controller input/outputs.
• Be proficient and utilize Visio and or AutoCAD.
• Understand simple controls networking principles.
• Display knowledge of controls hardware
• Create P&ID’s based on contract drawings P&ID’s
• Develop controls submittals with assistance from senior level application engineers.
• Understand simple installation methods.
• Ability to implementation systems graphics per project scope
• Create guidelines, standards and templates for typical projects.
• Basic knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC) requirements for control system installations.

Geographic Disclosure

Compensation Range: $35 - $40 per hour
