Job summary

IMEG in Greenwood Village, CO is seeking a Mechanical Designer to assist with HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection system design for hospitality and MEP projects. You will support project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and coordination, while contributing to high-performance, energy-efficient design aligned with industry standards.

This role requires at least 5 years of experience in building design consulting, proficiency with BIM and engineering software, and the ability to work with

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience minimum in the building design consulting or construction industry
• Develop proficiency in design techniques, tools and concepts for technical plans and specifications
• Strong technical and analytical skills relevant to thermodynamics, psychrometrics, heat transfer and fluid mechanics for building systems
• Proficiency in industry standard engineering software including HVAC load calculation tools
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work in a team
• Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities; eager to learn and adapt
• Proficiency in BIM software usage for design documentation
• Clear oral and written communication skills
• MS Office proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Ability to travel up to 5% with occasional overnight stays

Responsibilities

• Complete tasks of low to moderate complexity for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems
• Create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations per codes and IMEG standards
• Coordinate with clients to understand needs and maintain relationships
• Support project planning, budgeting, and scheduling to meet deadlines
• Document design decisions and monitor progress
• Collaborate with senior engineers to develop practical solutions
• Participate in IMEG quality control processes to meet standards
• Stay current on industry trends and BIM/MEP best practices
• Prioritize safety in mechanical systems design
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to meet project goals
