Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque seeks a Summer Associate Degree Student Intern specializing in Mechanical Design/Engineering to create and modify mechanical models and drawings using CAD. You will learn part-defining methods and update drawings per engineering change orders, under a staff mentor.

The role requires working on-site, pursuing a science/engineering/math major, and eligibility for U.S. security clearance. Intern pay is structured by credit hours and degree level.

Qualifications

• Enrolled full-time in spring term or scheduled to graduate in spring.
• Pursuing a science, engineering, or math major.
• Minimum GPA 3.0/4.0.
• Ability to work up to 40 hours per week during the summer.
• Ability to obtain US citizenship for security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Create and modify mechanical models and drawings using CAD.
• Incorporate GD&T-based tolerancing to describe engineering intent.
• Learn appropriate part-defining definition methods.
• Update models and drawings per engineering change orders.
• Assist with other projects under staff mentor.
