Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories is seeking a Summer Associate Degree Student Intern specializing in Mechanical Design/Engineering to join our team onsite. On a typical day you may create and modify mechanical models and drawings using CAD software, incorporate GD&T-based tolerancing, and learn part-defining methods.

The role requires enrollment in an undergraduate program in spring, pursuing engineering, and the ability to work up to 40 hours per week during summer, with U.S.

Qualifications

• Enrolled full-time in an accredited undergraduate program in spring term or graduating in spring.
• Pursuing a science, engineering, or math major.
• Minimum GPA 3.0/4.0.
• Able to work up to 40 hours per week during summer.
• U.S. citizenship to obtain security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Create and modify mechanical models and drawings using CAD software with GD&T tolerancing to describe parts and assemblies.
• Learn appropriate part-defining definition methods and understand product definition requirements.
• Update models and drawings per engineering change orders.
• Perform other projects as assigned by a staff mentor.
