Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, NM is offering an Intern Year Round - R&D Undergrad role. You will set up, calibrate, and qualify 3-D printers and additive manufacturing equipment, and participate in the product realization process from design through delivery.

The internship requires you to work onsite, be enrolled full-time in an accredited STEM undergrad program, and maintain a 3.0 GPA. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, assess supplier capabilities, and support

Qualifications

Currently attending and enrolled full time in an accredited undergraduate program.
Pursuing a science, engineering, or math major.
Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0.
Ability to work up to 25 hours per week during the academic year, and up to 40 hours per week during the summer.
Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship.

Responsibilities

Set up, calibrate, and qualify 3-D printers and additive manufacturing equipment.
Participate in the product realization process from design through delivery; defining requirements for mechanical parts.
Serve as the technical interface to product realization teams and suppliers for mechanical parts in weapon design.
Assist in improving material understanding and experimental work for additive manufacturing.
Manage product design definitions through the lifecycle (design-development-delivery).
Coordinate multiple interfaces internal and external; run data analytics reports and meetings.
Identify and qualify suppliers, assess their capabilities to meet requirements, and conduct technical evaluations.
