Sandia National Laboratories invites a Summer High School Intern to explore mechanical design using CAD tools such as Creo and SolidWorks. You will work onsite, learn to create and modify models, and apply GD&T to communicate engineering intent while engaging with a mentor for diverse project work.

Eligibility includes a 3.0 GPA, minimum age 16, availability for up to 40 hours per week through the summer, and U.S. citizenship or eligible status.

Formación

• Attending local high school or living with a parent or legal guardian near site if under 18.
• Enrolled full time in the spring immediately preceding internship.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0.
• Ability to work up to 40 hours per week during the summer.
• Minimum 16 years of age.
• U.S. citizens, legal permanent residents, asylees or refugees in the U.S.

Responsabilidades

• Learn or increase understanding of CAD model and drawing creation using Creo and SolidWorks.
• Create and modify mechanical models and drawings using CAD software with GD&T tolerancing.
• Develop understanding of product definition requirements.
• Update models and drawings per engineering change orders.
• Contribute to other projects as assigned by a staff mentor.
