Northrop Grumman in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking Mechanical Design Engineers Level 2/3 to join our Launcher Hardware team supporting Navy platforms. You will develop designs, generate solid models, and collaborate with stakeholders to meet technical and schedule goals.

Candidates have STEM degrees and experience; U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a secret clearance are required. This onsite role involves domestic travel and opportunities within a large defense contractor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 2 years relevant experience, or Master’s with no experience.
• Experience in machine design and drawing generation
• Ability to plan tasks to schedule
• US citizenship required
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Clearance

Responsibilities

• Develop designs and generate solid models reflecting concepts
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders balancing technical, schedule, and cost requirements
• Conduct trade studies to select and evaluate best design approaches to fulfill requirements
• Oversee the generation of engineering drawings using common GD&T practices
• Identify procurement needs and support fabrication
• Provide assembly checkout and test support
• Generate task plans and support proposal efforts
• Occasional domestic travel may be required
