Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Marlborough, MA is seeking a design and engineering professional to perform analysis, preliminary and detailed design work, and 3D CAD modeling for electronics packaging. You will participate in design reviews, generate drawings, and contribute to testing and COTS evaluations in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field
• Experience documenting configuration control, change management, trade studies and design artifacts

Responsibilities

• Perform analysis, qualification and acceptance testing on components, assemblies, mechanical fixtures and/or structures
• Perform mechanical preliminary and detailed design activities, ensuring technical integrity of products meeting program requirements
• Hold design reviews and resolve action items
• Generate mechanical drawings, including supporting drawing releases and change incorporation
• Demonstrate creativity in electronics packaging design using 3D CAD modeling and thermal analysis
• Conduct testing/COTS evaluation activities in the lab in support of Engineering Change Proposals
• Support production activities, including travel up to 10% to suppliers to the Merrimack, NH Manufacturing facility
• Interface with Configuration Management, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Supply Chain in product development
