Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a Mechanical CSU Engineer to lead commissioning, startup, testing, troubleshooting, and turnover of complex mechanical systems in a semiconductor facility in New Albany, Ohio.

You will provide technical leadership, interface across Engineering, Construction, Quality, Vendors, Operations and Client stakeholders, ensuring systems meet design intent, safety standards, and startup objectives while mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 8–10 years of relevant experience in mission critical facilities or 12–14 years for alternative pathways.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical commissioning and startup principles.
• Ability to read P&IDs and control documentation.
• Excellent leadership, communication and organizational skills.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams across construction, engineering, quality, vendors and client organizations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage commissioning plans, procedures, check sheets, startup sequences, and turnover requirements.
• Review P&IDs, equipment datasheets, specifications, control narratives, vendor documentation, and construction packages for commissioning readiness.
• Lead system walkdowns, punch list development, deficiency tracking, and readiness assessments.
• Lead commissioning and startup activities for HVAC, cleanroom air handling, water systems, gas distribution, and related utilities.
• Direct field execution of pre-functional and functional testing; coordinate testing activities.
• Coordinate OEM vendor startup activities and witness performance testing; support subcontractor commissioning.
• Ensure commissioning records are complete and turnover packages are prepared and handed over to client operations.
• Champion a zero-incident safety culture and ensure ES&H compliance.
