Job summary

GE Vernova, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design, analyze, and optimize components across our gas power portfolio.

You will work with cross-functional, global teams to deliver high-quality solutions, drive product upgrades, and ensure safety standards. Responsibilities include executing mechanical design and analysis (stress, modal, lifing) for gas turbines and accessories, validating hardware, and leading root-cause analyses with Lean principles to improve reliability and yield.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related STEM field from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.

Responsibilities

  • Design & Analysis: Execute mechanical design and analysis (stress, modal, lifing) for assigned components in gas turbines, steam, generators, and accessory systems.
  • Technical Stewardship: Take ownership of mechanical hardware; perform validation testing; and evaluate designs for factors like thermal growth, manufacturing variation, and assembly stack-up to ensure optimal product behavior.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering experts, manufacturing, and sourcing teams to optimize sub-systems and components.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead root cause analyses (RCA) to improve reliability, quality, and yield. Apply Lean principles to streamline processes and drive innovation.
  • Project Delivery: Manage milestones through formal/informal technical reviews, ensuring compliance with NPI processes and design practices.
  • Mentorship: Foster a collaborative environment by coaching team members and building strong relationships with key stakeholders, including Principal and Chief Engineers.
