Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a qualified Mechanical Engineer to lead design and analysis for gas turbine hardware in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment. You will perform stress and modal analyses, participate in validation testing, and drive improvements with lean practices across engineering, manufacturing and sourcing teams.

The role emphasizes mentorship, technical ownership, and adherence to NPI processes while delivering reliable, high‑quality solutions for critical power systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related STEM field from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Experience with ANSYS and NX for mechanical design/analysis.
  • Proficiency in Python and Excel VBA for data analysis.
  • Lean mindset with familiarity with AI-driven tools and collaborative design.

Responsibilities

  • Design & Analysis: perform mechanical design and analysis (stress, modal, lifing) for gas turbine components and related systems.
  • Technical Stewardship: own mechanical hardware, conduct validation testing, and assess designs for thermal growth, manufacturing variation, and assembly stack‑up.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: work with engineering, manufacturing, and sourcing teams to optimize subsystems and components.
  • Continuous Improvement: lead root cause analyses to improve reliability, quality, and yield; apply Lean methods to streamline processes.
  • Project Delivery: manage milestones through technical reviews and ensure compliance with NPI practices.
  • Mentorship: coach team members and build strong stakeholder relationships including senior engineers.
