A leading company is seeking a Meat Wrapper to assist in the packaging and display of meat products. This role involves ensuring all meats are properly wrapped, labeled, and displayed according to company standards, while providing customer assistance and maintaining a sanitary work environment.

POSITION TITLE: Meat Wrapper

REPORTS TO: Meat Manager
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
JOB SUMMARY:
To wrap, package, and display meat and related products for sale as directed by company standards.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1) Wrap, weigh, price, and label meats, poultry and fish products to be displayed in the fresh meat and seafood cases.
2) To monitor supply levels for the department (wrapping materials and labels) and notify the manager so the supplies can be ordered.
3) Communicate low stock items to the department manager so they can be replenished or ordered.
4) Ensure that all meat products are neatly packaged and labeled with accurate information, including price, weight, and product description.
5) Restock the fresh meat and chicken display cases and the items are properly wrapped and tagged for sale.
6) Communicate temperature failure to department manager or manager on duty.
7) Provide friendly, courteous customer assistance.
8) Maintain a clean and sanitary work area, including cleaning surfaces, tools, and equipment used for packaging.
9) Observe policies and procedures established for the department.
10) Observe all state, local, and federal health, weights, and measures laws.
11) Greet all customers and be observant.
12) Abide by all company policies as stated in the Employee Handbook.
SUPPLEMENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1) Assist in the maintenance of the price book.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
1) Ability to read and write to properly tag products.
2) Must have dexterity in hands to enable the wrapping and handling of the products.
3) Ability to be exposed to extreme cold while handling frozen or refrigerated meats at a minimum of fifty-five percent (55%) of the time over and eight (8) hour work schedule.
4) Ability to go below minus fifteen degrees below zero (-15 degrees) up to five percent (5%) of the time during an eight (8) hour work schedule.
5) Ability to lift up to seventy (70) pounds at least forty percent (40%) of the time.
6) Must be able to stand upright for most of your scheduled work shift.
