POSITION TITLE: Meat Wrapper

Description

The Meat Wrapper is responsible for wrapping and packaging meat and related products according to company standards.

Department and Reporting

Department: Meat

Reports To: Meat Manager

Job Details

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Essential Job Functions

1. Wrap, weigh, price, and label meats and related products.
2. Order supplies for the department, including wrapping materials and labels.
3. Communicate low stock levels to the department manager.
4. Stock the display case.
5. Report temperature failures to the department manager.
6. Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping standards.
7. Follow policies and procedures established for the department.
8. Comply with all applicable health, weights, and measures laws.
9. Greet customers and observe their needs.
10. Adhere to all company policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook.

Supplemental Functions

1. Assist in maintaining the price book.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Ability to read and write for proper product tagging.
2. Dexterity in handling and wrapping products.
3. Ability to work in extreme cold, at least 55% of the time handling frozen or refrigerated meats.
4. Ability to work in temperatures as low as -15°F, up to 5% of the time during an 8-hour shift.
5. Ability to lift up to 70 pounds, at least 40% of the time.
