Sprouts Farmers Market in Cave Creek, AZ is seeking an Assistant Meat Manager to help lead the Meat & Seafood department with a focus on quality, service, and efficiency. You will assist in managing daily operations, ordering, inventory, and supervising the Meat & Seafood team to deliver fresh, safe products and a superior customer experience.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old with basic math, weights, and measures knowledge; minimum 2 years professional experience and leadership experience; 2-3 years grocery retail experience in Meat dept preferred.
• Be dependable, reliable, and perform other related duties as assigned.
• Outgoing, friendly demeanor with the ability to interact with customers.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• Perform general housekeeping and sanitation in the department.
• Adhere to safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations and company recipes.
• Capability to stand for up to 4 hours continuously; up to 8 hours per shift; walk up to 2 miles per 8 hours.
• Work in temperature-controlled area and maintain housekeeping in the department.
• Vision required for using sharp knives and meat-processing equipment.
• Lift/carry 25–90 lbs., up to 10 ft., up to 20 hours.
• Pallet jack use up to 500 lbs., up to 100 ft., up to 5 hours.
• Move racks up to 70 lbs., up to 50 ft., up to 10 hours.
• Move tables up to 70 lbs., up to 2 ft., up to 1 hour.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Meat & Seafood Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit.
• Responsible for ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Meat & Seafood team.
• Coordinate production, merchandising, and sales through planning, direction, goal setting, communication, and teamwork.
• Assist in leading a team to deliver the finest quality of product and high level of service for customers.
• Assist in hiring, teaching, training, and developing the Meat & Seafood team.
• Knowledge of weekly ad items and assist with inventory and ordering; enforce department practices for receiving, stocking, and unloading to ensure freshness and quality; follow 'Clean as You Go' and 'Fresh at 4' programs.
• Unload and sort store deliveries; operate and maintain meat & seafood equipment.
• Ensure execution of health, safety, and sanitation guidelines; ensure team adheres to procedures.
