Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market is seeking an Assistant Meat Manager to lead one of the busiest departments in the store, focusing on accurate meat and seafood preparation, customer service, and team development. You’ll assist the Meat & Seafood Manager with scheduling, inventory, and ensuring freshness, quality, and safety standards.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in grocery meat retail and proven leadership, with flexibility for nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old with 2 years of grocery retail meat department experience.
• Proven leadership experience and ability to train and supervise a team.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 90 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Meat & Seafood Manager in managing the department for productivity and profit.
• Responsible for ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Meat & Seafood team.
• Coordinate production, merchandising and sales through planning, direction, and teamwork.
• Assist in hiring, teaching, training, and developing the Meat & Seafood team.
• Ensure compliance with safety, health and sanitation guidelines and company procedures.
• Unload deliveries and maintain meat & seafood equipment.
• Follow and enforce department practices and freshness standards.
