Job summary

Fort McCoy Ranch by FM Meat Products is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to implement QA policies and ensure compliance across processes. The role involves testing products, documenting results, and liaising with production and regulatory authorities. The successful candidate will monitor sanitation, food safety, and quality control practices in a refrigerated meat facility.

Salary is $17 per hour. No direct reports.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of the meat packing industry.
• Ability to cut meat using saws and/or knives.
• Knowledge of food safety, quality control and sanitation.
• Serve Safe Certification Preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance of regulations/policies - ultimate accountability for QA compliance across multiple product lines; analyzes, reviews, interprets QA policies, implements standards, monitors regulatory activities, ensures plant compliance and liaises with regulators.
• Perform prevention activities and issue resolution - act as customer interface, manage QA audits, respond to customer questions/complaints, identify risks and prevent QA issues.
• Develop, implement, and assess process/systems - plan and direct all QA programs, manage change, implement product specification systems, drive continuous improvement.
• Shape food safety, quality and regulatory culture - interface with managers, represent QA, liaise between customer and operations to meet expectations, develop QA workforce.
• People and resource management - responsible for selection, training, performance management, and QA initiatives.
• Drilling combos of product to identify fat percentages per customer specs; tag non-conforming products for rework.
