Job summary

Sysco is seeking a Meat Processing Operator to assist line supervision, communicate daily objectives, and mentor team members in a refrigerated production area in Florida. You will cut to specifications, label products, record data, and help meet yield and timing goals while following USDA and safety guidelines.

The role requires basic math, the ability to read orders, and prior experience with portion cutting meat.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform mathematical calculations and conversions to determine amounts and sizes.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
• Prior experience with portion cutting meat.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside team to direct the short-term flow and organization of production area.
• Accurately cut to trim and yield specifications as specified by cut tickets.
• Communicate discrepancies between tickets and customer purchases to supervisor.
• Label products and equipment to conform to safety regulations.
• Record data to produce cutting yield tests.
• Count inventory levels and maintain supervisor-set levels.
• Ensure product specs meet guidelines and USDA requirements.
• Maintain work areas in compliance with USDA guidelines.
• Assemble and tear down equipment at shift start/end.
• Clean, store and maintain knives, scales, etc.
• Manage profitability by achieving yields and meeting deadlines.
• Assist in safety program and promote safe work practices.
