Job summary

Sysco Northeast RDC in Illinois is seeking a Meat Production Lead to assist front-line supervision, communicate daily objectives, mentor staff, and order meat as needed.

You will work with the team to direct short-term production flow, cut to ticket specs, label and record data for yield tests, maintain USDA compliance, and support safety programs. This hands-on role requires strong accuracy, teamwork, and a readiness to perform various duties.

Qualifications

• Math calculations and conversions for orders
• English language literacy
• Prior experience in portion cutting meat

Responsibilities

• Direct short-term production flow with the team.
• Cut meat to trim and yield specifications from tickets.
• Report discrepancies between tickets and purchases to supervisor.
• Label products and equipment per regulations.
• Record data for cutting yield tests.
• Count inventory and maintain set levels.
• Ensure product specs meet guidelines and USDA standards.
• Maintain and clean workspace per safety rules.
• Prepare and teardown equipment at shift start/end.
• Support profitability by achieving yields and deadlines.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Engage in safety goals and safety program participation.
• Follow safe work practices.
