Job summary

WMFHA in Aurora, IL is seeking a Meat Production Maintenance Technician for the 1st shift to upkeep and repair production and facility equipment. The role includes maintaining PM schedules, logging repairs, and ensuring safety compliance while supporting day and night operations.

Qualifications

• Education: High School education or equivalent; mechanic training or trade school preferred.
• Experience: at least 6 months of mechanic experience.
• Knowledge/Skills: repair and operation of production equipment; welding; read/write; follow orders; basic math; work with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on production/facility equipment to ensure uptime for day and night operations.
• Review equipment reports, record actions/repairs, and maintain a repair log per policy.
• Complete documentation for equipment-related activities (forms, PM logs).
• Maintain and secure battery-charging area and tools; manage inventory of parts and equipment.
• Adhere to safety guidelines (Lock Out/Tag Out, placarding, safe work environment).
