Job summary

Weis Markets in Stafford, VA is seeking a Meat Department team member to deliver outstanding customer service and maintain fresh, well stocked products. You will assist the Meat Manager with daily operations, merchandising, inventory control and staff coordination.

The role requires strong leadership, quality control and adherence to safety standards in a fast-paced grocery environment. High school diploma or GED is required; meat management experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Associate's or bachelor's degree in business related or food service related field desirable.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in management in a retail/restaurant/supermarket environment.
• Meat management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promotes excellent customer relations by instilling positive customer focused behavior with associates.
• Takes customer orders and helps prepare finished products.
• Ensures fresh quality merchandise and proper product handling.
• Assists Meat Manager in day-to-day Meat operations and merchandising.
• Coordinates sales and merchandising plans to ensure stock levels and freshness.
• Oversees department inventories and weekly sales reports.
• Assists with scheduling department associates and training.
• Maintains backroom organization and product storage per guidelines.
• Checks deliveries and invoices for accurate billing and restocks as needed.
• Controls department expenses and labor costs, reduces losses due to spoilage.
• Keeps meat department cases well stocked and appealing to customers.
