Job summary

Weis Markets is seeking a Meat Department Associate to support daily operations, enhance customer service, and maintain fresh, high-quality products. You will assist in merchandising, inventory, scheduling, and training while ensuring safety and compliance with company recipes and standards.

The role involves heavy interaction with customers, coordinating with the Meat Manager, and ensuring timely order fulfillment, proper stock levels, and adherence to freshness guidelines across the department.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Associate or bachelor's degree in business related or food service related field desirable.

Responsibilities

• Promotes excellent customer relations by instilling positive customer focused behavior with associates.
• Takes customer orders over the phone or in person and creates finished decorated products.
• Ensures fresh quality merchandise and proper product handling techniques.
• Assists Meat Manager in day-to-day Meat operations, merchandising, ad execution, engagement and customer service.
• Coordinates sales and merchandising plans to ensure proper stock levels and freshness.
• Oversees department inventories by tracking weekly sales, orders and supplies.
• Assists with scheduling department associates and utilizes LMS for training.
• Manages inventory levels and backroom organization, including shelf replenishment and product rotation.
• Checks and verifies department deliveries and invoices to ensure accurate billing; assists unloading merchandise.
• Controls department expenses, maintains freshness, and reduces losses due to damages or shrink.
• Keeps meat department cases stocked and appealing, answers questions, and fulfills special requests.
• Sets up displays, ensures meat is fresh with proper pricing and signage; removes unsaleable product.
• Weighs and wraps merchandise and maintains logs for freshness and quality.
• Maintains backroom security and sanitation, follows cleaning schedules and OSHA requirements.
• May assist in other departments and participate in training.

Education
