Job summary

H-E-B is seeking a Market Lead to oversee a meat department, ensuring well-stocked, safe and clean operations while delivering exceptional customer service. The role may include supervising staff, scheduling, and training Partners to uphold quality standards.

The position emphasizes knowledge of meat production, cutting skills, and familiarity with department procedures, safety guidelines, and federal/state regulations. Strong communication and leadership abilities are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent; 6+ months of related experience or training, or a mix of education and training.
• Completion of Company Orientation, food safety and sanitation training, and eCommerce Online Ordering training.
• Meat-cutting skills (saw, grinder).
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.

Responsibilities

• Lead department operations, training, and production activities; may back up the Department Manager.
• Train Partners, direct work, address complaints, and ensure superior customer service.
• Order product, ensure quality control, and weigh/label merchandise.
• Maintain coolers, freezers, and sanitation standards in the department.
• Follow SOPs and store procedures and comply with safety regulations.
