Job summary

H-E-B is seeking a Store Department Lead responsible for leading a well-stocked, well-maintained department and delivering exceptional customer service. The role includes supervising shifts, scheduling, and training Partners across multiple departments such as Bakery, Beauty, Deli, Produce, and more.

Responsibilities include back-up to Department Manager, inventory support, coaching on service excellence, and adherence to food safety and store procedures.

Qualifications

• Expert knowledge of department production stations, including quality standards, set-up, operation, cleaning, and maintenance of all equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret documents (e.g., safety rules, operating / maintenance instructions, production planners, procedure manuals).
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or Partners.
• Ability to apply common sense / understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead department operations and training; schedule work and train Partners.
• Provide superior customer service and handle customer orders by phone or in person.
• Perform supervisory responsibilities in accordance with policies and laws.
• Assist with inventory control and product loading/unloading.
• Train Partners and direct work; resolve issues and follow production plans.
