Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Meat Science, Animal Science, Biology, Food Science, Microbiology, or related field.
• One year of experience conducting meat and poultry inspections or related processing experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct ante-mortem and postmortem inspections of meat and poultry facilities.
• Evaluate plant sanitation procedures and HACCP plan effectiveness.
• Monitor Critical Control Points and verify product wholesomeness.
• Educate firm operators on current regulations and initiate regulatory actions when needed.
• Travel to assigned counties to perform inspections in plants outside the permanent location.
