Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Meat Science, Animal Science, Biology, Food Science, Microbiology, or related field
• One year of meat and poultry inspection experience or related processing experience
• Must maintain a valid driver's license and comply with applicable records checks and driving standards

Responsibilities

• Perform ante-mortem and post-mmortem inspections at meat and poultry facilities
• Evaluate plant sanitation procedures and HACCP plans
• Educate firms on regulations and, when needed, initiate regulatory actions
• Travel to counties (e.g., Lyon, Redwood, Murray, Cottonwood) to inspect facilities and provide guidance
