Job summary

Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a Meat Department Supervisor to drive outstanding customer experiences and maintain a safe, clean environment. You will lead associates, establish goals, schedule coverage, train staff, and ensure product quality.

Responsibilities include promoting teamwork, executing promotions, monitoring inventory and pricing, and maintaining proper temperatures and safety procedures across the department.

Qualifications

• Excellent oral/written communication skills.
• Current food handlers permit once employed.
• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates, with a positive attitude.
• Communicate company, department, and job specific information to associates.
• Establish department performance goals and empower associates to meet or exceed targets through teamwork.
• Develop adequate scheduling to manage customer volume.
• Train and develop associates on their job performance and participate in the performance appraisal process.
• Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome and appreciated by answering questions about products.
• Review/inspect products for quality and freshness and take appropriate action.
• Plan and organize the inventory process and price changes.
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and temperature logs are kept.
• Adhere to safety programs and report safety risks or incidents.
• Prepare and submit seasonal critiques and assist in budget/expense reviews.
